Format: The St. Louis Renaissance Faire at Rotary Park in Wentzville, MO is looking for 6 to 12 street performer/buskers to entertain in the lanes at the Faire this coming season. We are seeking musicians, mimes, minstrels, magicians, jugglers, balladeers, and assorted variety artists. Performers are expected to provide their own era-appropriate costuming and props. Performers can pass the hat and may receive a small daily stipend, depending on the act.

The Bacchanalians will perform swashbuckling swordplay shows, Shakespearean dramas, interactive improvised scenarios, and rollicking music and dance numbers, all while portraying Elizabethan characters. The Bacchanalian Cast commitment is 16 weeks beginning with 4 weeks of intensive rehearsals and continuing with a 12-week performance run Saturdays, Sundays and Labor Day Monday with some mid-week school day performances.

Strong improvisational and comic skills are preferred and stage combat experience is a plus for actors. The cast will receive training in improvisation, voice, children’s theater, movement, dialect, stage combat, stunts, Shakespeare, character development, and the techniques of interaction.

actors can audition for the apprentice acting company, “The Blackfryars,” which consists of 50 to 80 volunteer members who donate their time to help portray the characters that bring our working Tudor village to life. The Blackfryars begin their training in April, attending rehearsals and workshops every Saturday. Performances are Saturdays, Sundays and Labor Day Monday throughout the 12-week performance run.

Format: Mutton and Mead is in search of actors, singers, musicians and dancers both novice and professional to help us bring the streets of our humble but entertaining village alive!
Not looking for a major role, or maybe you’re just interested in singing with us? We are also seeking “extras.” These performers play a less involved role as the day unfolds, but an important role nonetheless. Regardless of the size of your part, we provide training to give you the skills to rock the shire on festival day.

Not a performer, but interested in helping our village come alive? Mutton and Mead is also seeking Theater, Stage and Set Crews as well as other Volunteers. You will be joining a lively community of imaginative people, committed to creating a unique event.

Format:
• We are looking for Peasants, Nobility, and Fairies; some cast members may also be in our in-house (TBA) Shakespeare production.
• Rehearsals are every Saturday and Sunday starting the last weekend of March through April. There will be additional rehearsals in February and March for fairies, stage combatants, and the Shakespeare cast. In addition, we will have specialty rehearsals as needed during the weeks leading up to the festival.
Please consider the time commitments needed for these more demanding roles prior to agreeing to you casting.
• Rehearsals will cover: guidelines on how to build a period-looking costume, character development, interactive and improvisational theatre, and language and dialect skills.
• Performance Dates are: May 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27, and Memorial Day Monday May 28th, 2012. Festival hours are 10am to 6pm; call time for some performers is as early as 8am. There is also a Student Day on Friday, May 4th, with abbreviated hours.

With the declining attendance of our patrons, and ongoing monetary loss, SLRF Productions, Inc. Board of Directors has been forced to assess this situation in light of our for-profit company status. As a result of our assessment a very difficult decision has been reached. It is with deepest regret and sorrow that we are announcing that there will be no 2012 Silver Leaf Renaissance Faire.”
